ISU Council on International Programs - International Grants Program for 2012

Iowa State University’ Strategic Plan emphasizes global learning, discovery and engagement. To support this important institutional priority the ISU Council on International Programs is issuing a Call for Proposals for grants of up to $5000 each to be spent by June 30, 2012. It is anticipated that CIP will fund 12 – 15 grants this year

Funding opportunity - organic agriculture (deadline 3/9/12)

PURPOSE: to solve critical organic agricultural issues, priorities, or problems through the integration of research and extension activities.

The program funds high priority research and extension projects that will enhance the ability of producers and processors who have already adopted organic standards to grow and market high quality organic agricultural products. See the guidelines for the 8 legislatively-defined goals. Project types include (1) integrated project proposals (standard or continuation grants; 2-4 years) and (2) conference and analytical proposals (1 year).

Visiting Fellowship in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the School of Advanced Study, University of London

Deadline for submission is 31 January 2012

Applications for 2012–13 are now invited from professorial staff and early to mid-career academics (applicants must have been awarded their PhD between eight and fifteen years before applying for a fellowship) who wish to pursue research in London in any of the areas covered by the School, and to engage in an active relationship with the multidisciplinary scholarly community across the School. The Fellowship is tenable for up to six consecutive months between September 2012 and June 2013.

EPA Urban Waters small grants program

The EPA Urban Waters Small Grants program allows one submission per institution. The VPR/ED’s office has had one expression of interest and will need to coordinate an internal competition if others are interested. Please ask CALS faculty who are interested in submitting a proposal for this program to contact Roxanne Clemens (rclemens@iastate.edu) by noon on January 9 so we can let the VPR/ED’s office know whether an internal competition will be needed.
