Funding opportunity available in sustainable agriculture
PURPOSE: to strengthen rural communities, increase farmer/ranchers profitability, and improve the environment by supporting research and education in sustainable agriculture.
Approximately 7 to 10 projects will be funded, with project periods up to 36 months. The maximum grant amount is $200,000 over the total project period, with the average size of grants about $175,000 for periods of 24 to 36 months. Pre-proposals should explain expected outcomes for the project and relationship to SARE objectives, how project outcomes will be evaluated and what impact the project will have on farmers/ranchers, rural communities and society as a whole.
