NBER's Universities' Research Conference, Call for Papers

As a reminder, the National Bureau of Economic Research is continuing its series of Universities' Research Conferences. We will hold a conference on Poverty, Inequality, and Social Policy May 10 and 11, 2013, in Cambridge, MA. The program is being organized by Professor Melissa Kearney and Professor Phillip Levine.

NCR-SARE Announces 2013 Farmer Rancher Grant Call for Proposals

The 2013 North Central Region - Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (NCR-SARE) Farmer Rancher Grant Call for Proposals is now available.

Farmers and ranchers in the North Central Region are invited to submit grant proposals to explore sustainable agriculture solutions to problems on the farm or ranch. Proposals should show how farmers and ranchers plan to use their own innovative ideas to explore sustainable agriculture options and how they will share project results. Sustainable agriculture is good for the environment, profitable, and socially responsible.

Midwest Economics Association 2013 conference call for papers

The Midwest Economics Association will hold its 77th Annual Meeting from March 22 – 24, 2013 at the Sheraton Columbus Hotel at Capitol Square in Columbus, Ohio. MEA President Ping Wang of Washington University will give this year’s Presidential Address. This year’s C. Woody Thompson Lecture will be given by Samuel S. Kortum of the University of Chicago.

Poster presentation opportunity

Secretary Northey is hosting a field day for the Gulf Hypoxia Task Force and the National Association of States Departments of Agriculture at the Biocentury Research Farm west of Ames. EPA and state agencies and agricultural leaders from Iowa will be in attendance. We expect 300-350 people in attendance. This is a showcase with several agribusinesses exhibiting their technologies as it relates to water quality. There will be equipment demos, tours, brief presentations and a poster session.

Call for papers/proposals technology standards

The Searle Center on Law, Regulation, and Economic Growth is issuing a call for original research papers and proposals to be presented at a Research Roundtable Conference on Technology Standards and Innovation. The conference will be held at the Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, IL on Thursday, February 7, 2013 and Friday February 8, 2013.
