  • New disclosure policy for AEA Journal Submissions

    Beginning July 1, 2012, all submissions to AEA journals, including revisions of previously submitted papers, must be accompanied by a Disclosure Statement. This is applicable even when the authors have no relevant interests to disclose. Authors will need to provide a separate Disclosure Statement for each coauthor at the time of submission. Submissions that do not include the statements will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed.   • AAEA Presenter Requirements-June 4 Deadline

    June 4 is the deadline for participants in all AAEA Annual Meeting sessions to be a current (2012 calendar year) AAEA member and registered for the Annual Meeting.  Beginning June 5, anyone who does not meet these requirements will be withdrawn from the program.

    If you are unsure of your AAEA membership or meeting registration status, contact the AAEA Business Office (info@aaea.org).

  • CARD study shows impact of ethanol on pump prices

    CARD logoA recent fuel price analysis, conducted by ISU’s Center for Agriculture and Rural Development, found that pump prices would be $1.69 more per gallon across the Midwest if ethanol wasn’t available. This $1.69 per gallon reduction adds up to $2,363 in annual savings for a typical Iowa family.   • Iowa MicroLoan/CVC client receives Main Street Iowa Award

    Linda Gobberdiel and the Coop Steering Committee of the Tallgrass Coop Grocery located in Valley Junction Historic District of West Des Moines were recognized as the "Best Business Development Success Story" for 2011 during the Main Street Iowa Awards Program, held at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium Ballroom in Des Moines, May 4, 2012.

    Presenting the Award is Governor Terry Branstad and Debi Durham, Director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority.

    The Tallgrass Grocery Coop is an Iowa MicroLoan client and was the first participant in the Main Street Development Loan Program which is administered by Iowa MicroLoan, in collaboration with Preservation Iowa and Main Street Iowa of the Iowa Economic Development Authority.

    The Community Vitality Center from Iowa State University was instrumental in founding Iowa MicroLoan in 2008 and in facilitating the development of the Main Street Development Loan Program in 2010. Learn more about the Community Vitality Center at: http://www.cvcia.org/
