Friday EGSA event at Welch Avenue Station

We are just about halfway through the semester now, so take a break this Friday (March 2) and join EGSA at Welch Avenue for food and drinks. We’ve got a section reserved from 5-8, and we’ll plan to start arriving around 5:30. Hope to see you there!

Important mail service information

Beginning Monday, March 5, the U.S. Postal Service will no longer deliver the mail to Heady Hall. As is the case with most of campus, ISU Postal & Parcel will bring the U.S. mail to our building along with the campus mail. As a result you should notice two changes. The mail will likely be delivered about an hour later, approximately 11:00 am. In addition, they will no longer process your stamped personal mail. You will need to take this to a U.S.P.S. box, the closest on campus being in the Memorial Union or in front of Kildee Hall.

Spring break hours

The Department of Economics Administrative Office will observe shortened hours (7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) during Spring Break (March 12 – 16).

Upcoming EGSA events

Monday, February 20th, feel free to join us at 6:30 pm for a gymnastics meet against S.E. Missouri State. The event should be free for students, faculty, and staff. If you attend, you can use your ticket stub to also attend a meet on February 26 against Minnesota.

Saturday, February 25th is the night of the last Cyclones Hockey Game. We have a large number of 2-for-1 coupons available for this game. Please send an email to me or ex-President Jesse Strzok (jstrzok@iastate.edu) for a coupon.

Congratulations to Gray and Jess Calhoun on the birth of their twins!

Congratulations to Gray Calhoun and his wife Jess on the birth of their twins Nathan and Alice, on January 26. Nate (left) was born at 3lbs and 3 oz, and Alice (right) at 2 lbs and 15 oz. The department sends their best wishes to the new Calhoun family!

Upcoming Social Justice and Inclusion Workshops

Faculty, staff and students are invited to join Becky Martinez, independent consultant on the topics of social justice, inclusion and leadership, as she provides three dynamic and interactive workshops focused on power, privilege and inclusion in the Campanile Room of the Memorial Union on February 3.

Media spokesperson training, FEB. 15 AND 28
