Huffman Named to ISU Graduate Council

Wallace Huffman and Elisabeth Lonergan, animal science, have been named to the ISU Graduate Council for a term extending through 2009. The Graduate Council serves as the executive committee of the graduate faculty.

Community Vitality Center Team Receives Award

The Community Vitality Center team of Mark Edelman, Sandra Burke, Craig Hertel, Becky Johnson, Laura Klesel, Vitaly Pecharsky, Jr., and Sue Lambertz received the ISU Extension Scholarship and Discovery/Engagement Partnership Award for the "Iowa Wealth Transfer and Community Philanthropy Initiative." The award was presented at the 2006 Annual ISU Extension Awards Banquet and Ceremony in Hilton Coliseum on September 11, 2006.

2006 ISU United Way Campaign

United Way pledge information will be distributed campus-wide on Thursday, September 7. New this year: Pledge cards are to be returned through campus mail where they will be delivered to a campus lockbox and picked up by the United Way. Use the enclosed envelope (the envelope addressed to 184 General Services). A campus mail basket is available in 260 Heady. Also, every Iowa State donor will receive the opportunity to order four complimentary tickets to the ISU-Minnesota women's basketball game on Saturday, Dec. 9. See the web site for details._x000d_

University Offices Closed

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Fall Convocation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, at 4:10 pm in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union.

Recycling Bins

The blue recycling bins are for the disposal of white paper. For a list of acceptable items, go to http://www.fpm.iastate.edu/recycling/posters.asp and select "White Paper (for display on or around recycling bins)." When your bin is full please empty it into one of the large bins, which are located in the hallways throughout the building.
