EGSA open house with John Dear Representative

When: October 15, Openhouse 11:30-1:00, with a presentation at 12:00.

Where: Snedecor 2113

What: Come meet with a representative from John Deere to discuss and hear about job opportunities at the company, including summer internships. Bring a resume if interested in applying. Pizza will be provided.

Who is invited: Anyone from the economics department, as well as the statistics and other quantitative fields Will probably be of special interest to master's students.

Reminder on personal mail

A reminder that all mail leaving the department must be university related business. Please take your personal mail to the local U.S. Postal Office or Memorial Union Postal office to be mailed.

New Linux terminal server now available

A new new Linux terminal server econ3.econ.iastate.edu is now available in the department. Its main purpose is to support high performance research computing, and is available for use by all economics and CARD faculty and staff.

An Adobe Acrobat document (“High Performance Linux Terminal Server.pdf”) provides information on how to connect to the server and launch selected software titles installed on it (e.g., R, Matlab, and Gauss).

Recycling guideline reminders

With the start of the new school year, please be reminded of Heady Hall's recycling rules, and what materials you can place into the large blue bins located on each floor by the elevators. Read more
